Abstract:
To provide a composite porous preform which reduces the manufacturing cost and secures appropriate strength; a composite material using it; and a method for manufacturing them.
The composite porous preform comprises a basal part made of a porous body formed by sintering a metallic powder; and a reinforcing part which is made of a porous body formed by sintering a reinforcement material or a mixture of the reinforcement material and the above metallic powder, and is integrated with the basal part to strengthen the basal part. Specifically, the composite porous preform includes the reinforcement material in one part of itself.
