Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite system which can simplify an operation which makes an image reading function practice in use by making a printer function as a reading means.
SOLUTION: A printer 1 is provided with a control part 17 and the control part 17 detects a cartridge carrying condition on a cartridge carrying part 14 and when the carrying condition is changed by carrying a reading cartridge in such a way that the cartridge carried on the cartridge carrying part 14 is exchanged from a printing cartridge to the reading cartridge, a signal for an image reading function setting condition is transmitted to a host computor 2 through an interface 18. When the signal for the image reading function setting condition is received in the host computor 2, the host computor 2 judges that switching of the setting condition from a printing function setting condition to the image reading function setting condition is generated by a condition monitoring software 22 and perfoms the control in such a way that a printing software 23 is finished and an image reading software 24 is started.
