To provide a method to manufacture a composite yarn, which has high productivity due to unnecessity of covering step after winding up a crimped yarn, is practical in terms of equipment, cost and the like, and generates less fuzz dust, and enables false twisting of a raw yarn and winding of the raw yarn around a core yarn on the same machine.SOLUTION: A composite yarn is formed by mixing one string of a false-twist textured yarn constituted from a multifilament yarn formed only of organic fibers (however, not include an elastic yarn), one string of false-twist textured yarn having twisting in opposite direction to the false-twist textured yarn, and an elastic yarn or a metal fibers on the same machine. A method to manufacture the composite yarn includes a false twisting step to obtain two strings of false-twist textured yarns having twisting in different directions by applying a false twisting including a heat setting step to the multifilament yarn formed only of organic fibers and a mixing step to mix the one string of false-twist textured yarn, one string of false-twist textured yarn having twisting in opposite direction thereto, and the elastic yarn or the metal fibers, and allows the false twisting step and the mixing step to be continuously conducted on the same machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
