PURPOSE: To provide white sidewall compound, comprising a blend of EPDM with EPR, a thermoplastic polymeric additive for increasing the crystallinity and a non-black mineral filler and applicable to the black sidewall of a tire without using an adhesive.

CONSTITUTION: The compound comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. polymer blend containing (1) at least about 10-95 pts.wt. polyolefin produced from monomers having at least two carbon atoms and a mixture thereof and having about 0.5-13wt.% crystallinity and (2) about 5-90 pts.wt. thermoplastic polymeric additive for increasing the crystallinity (e.g. polyethylene), (B) a filler in an amount of about 20-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polymer blend and (C) a processing aid and a mixture thereof in an amount of about 20-150 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polymer blend.
