Abstract:
Fuel economy of internal combustion engines, especially gasoline engines, is improved by lubricating such engines with lubricant compositions comprising A. at least one tartrate of the formula wherein each R is independently a hydrocarbon-based group and the sum of carbon atoms in both the R groups is at least about 8; and B. at least one oil-soluble detergent and dispersant.
