Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject more stabilized compound by adding a specific stabilizer into a system containing an isothiazolone-based compound useful as an industrial germicide, especially a latex preservative or a synthetic resin emulsion preservative.
SOLUTION: This composition contains an isothiazolone-based compound, especially a compound represented by formula I (Y is H or a hydrocarbon; X1 and X2 are each H, a halogen or an alkyl) or a compound represented by formula II (X3 to X6 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, etc.), an N- haloquinoneimine which is a stabilizer and water. Compounds of formula III (Z1 to Z4 are each H, hydroxy, a halogen, an alkyl, etc.; X7 is H or a halogen), formula IV or V (X8 and X9 are each H or a halogen), etc., are preferred as the N-haloquinoneimine that is the stabilizer. The blending ratio of the components in the composition is 0.01-20wt.% isothiazolone-based compound, 0.005-1wt.% N-haloquinoneimine and water so that the sum total of the three components may be 100wt.%. A water-soluble glycolic solvent may be added into the system.
