PURPOSE: The titled composition useful as a component of a pocketable heater or cooler and the like, nonsticky at an elevated temp and kept in granular form without solidification when cooled after heated, which is prepared by the addition of a specified amt. of a water-absorbing resin to a salt contg. water of crystallization.

CONSTITUTION: The titled composition is obtd. by the addition of 0.001W20pts.wt. water-absorbing resin (e.g., a cross-linkable carboxymethylcellulose or a crosslinkable polyacrylate) capable of absorbing 25g or more water per gram of the resin, to 100pts.wt. salt contg. water of crysallization (e.g., LiBrxH2O or Na2SO4xH2O).

USE: The titled composition is useful for the prevention of stickiness or agglomeration due to an inorg. chemical, when mixed with a fertilizer, agricultural chemical, drug. insecticide, pigment, drying agent, digestant, detergent, powdered paint, etc.
