Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition useful for power cable, etc., having a high degree of crosslinking and excellent AC breakdown strength, comprising an organic peroxide, an alpha-methylstyrene and an allyl-based compound as essential components. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition comprising (A) an organic peroxide such as dicumyl peroxide as a crosslinking agent, (B) a compound of formula I (R1 is H or a 1-9C alkyl) such as alpha-methylstyrene and (C) a compound of formula II (R2 is a 2-10C hydrocarbon, 2-10C aliphatic or an aromatic di- tetrabasic acid residue, cyanuric acid residue, etc.; (n) is 2-4) such as triallyl isocyanurate as essential components. The blending ratio of the components A to C is preferably 1/0.1-1/3 in a weight ratio of the component B and C to the component A.
