Abstract:

To provide a planarizing insulating film for a liquid crystal display element having photosensitivity and excellent transparency and heat resistance.

The composition for forming such a planarizing insulating film for a liquid crystal display element is provided which comprises a resin (A) comprising a constitutional unit (a1) represented by general formula (a1-1) [wherein R1 represents a single bond or a straight- or branched-chain alkylene group; R101 represents an alkyl group; and n1 represents an integer of 0-4] and a photosensitizing agent (B). A method for producing such a planarizing insulating film for a liquid crystal display element is provided which comprises: forming a resin film on a substrate using the composition; exposing and developing the resin film to form a pattern; and baking the pattern.
