Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for hair makeup capable of exhibiting excellent hairdressing effects by blending a cationic resin obtained from two kinds of polymerizable unsaturated monomers such as dimethylaminoethyl acrylate and lauryl acrylate therein.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition for hair makeup comprises preferably ≥0.1wt.% cationic resin obtained by copolymerizing 50-90wt.% polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula I (R1 is H or methyl; R2 is alkylene; R3 and R4 are alkyl; A is O or NH) with 10-50wt.% polymerizable unsaturated monomer of formula II (R5 is H or methyl; R6 is alkyl) and 0-25wt.% other monomers copolymerizable with the respective polymerizable unsaturated monomers of formulas I and II (e.g. methyl methacrylate) and modifying the resultant copolymer with a cationizing agent of the formula XB (X is Br, Cl, etc.; B is alkyl, benzyl, etc.) (e.g. methyl chloride). This hair cosmetic is capable of imparting excellent slipperiness, combing properties and conditioning effects in wetting or drying.
