Abstract:
PURPOSE: To treat wool in e.g. a dyeing bath or washing bath using an insect- proofing composition which is intended for keratin and contains an N'-alkyl-N '-(3,5-dimethylbenzoyl)-N-(substituted benzoyl)-hydrazine as active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains an N-(2-A-3-B-4-C-benzoyl)-N'-D-N '-(3,5-dimethylbenzoyl)-hydrazine (A-C are each a halogen, an alkyl or an alkoxy, one or two of them being H; D is an alkyl) as active ingredient, and is useful for protecting wool from keratin-digestive insects. The active ingredient is esp. N'-(3,5-dimethylbenzoyl)-N-(4-ethylbenzoyl)-N'-(tert-butyl)-hydrazine. Wool is pref. treated using this composition in a dyeing bath or washing bath at 10-100 deg.C. Furthermore, it is preferable that the above treatment is conducted by dissolving the hydrazine in a cleaning agent.
