PURPOSE: To provide a mold casting method having excellent workability and heat resistance, etc., by blending the specific ratios of two components of alkalinizing benzylic ether resin and organic ester as the essential components to refractory material in composition used to a room temp. setting type molding method.

CONSTITUTION: To 100wt. parts of refractory material, two components of 0.5-6.0wt. parts of the alkalinizing benzylic ether resin and 0.1-3.0wt. parts of the organic ester are blended as the essential composition. As benzylic ether resin has only extremely little quantity of the group having water solubility, this does not have water solubility. However, by making this resin ≥pH9 of alkali, the water solubility can be obtd. Further, the alkalinizing benzylic ether resin is difficult to develop the curing action with the organic ester as it is. As this countermeasure, by further reacting a little quantity of formalin, the curing velocity can be adjusted. By this method, the room temp. setting type molding method having workability and mold characteristic, particularly, excellent heat resistance and collapsibility of the mold after pouring molten metal, is offered.
