Abstract:

To provide a composition for optical materials formable of a low refractive index film, which hardly causes film shrinkage in curing, produces a good coated surface, exhibits excellent humidity resistance and adhesiveness, shows low refractive index fluctuation in a high temperature condition, and is suitable for use as an antireflection film in an optical device; to provide an antireflection film produced by using the composition for optical materials; and to provide an optical device having the antireflection film.

The composition for optical materials includes polymers obtained from silsesquioxanes represented by composition formula (1): (R1SiO1.5)x(R2SiO1.5)y, wherein R1 is a polymerizable group; R2 is a non-polymerizable group; x is a number of 2.0-14.0; y is a number of 2.0-14.0; x+y equals 8 to 16; and a plurality of R1 and R2 may be the same or different, and consisting of one or more cage silsesquioxane compounds.
