Abstract:

To provide a composition for paper-coating, showing a good operating property on application, and capable of obtaining inexpensive coated paper having a good dry strength, wet strength, white paper gloss and printed gloss.

This composition for paper-coating containing a pigment and binder is provided by containing satin white as the pigment and latex containing a copolymer of (a) 30-65 mass% aliphatic conjugated diene monomer, (b) 1-8 mass% ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and (c) 27-69 mass% another monomer copolymerizable with these monomers as the binder, and having 30-120 nm mean particle diameter of the copolymer.
