Abstract:
To provide a composition for a regularly shaped refractory which contains a low residual carbon and does not obstruct formation of a fired brick structure, and a regularly shaped refractory made by hardening it.
The composition for the regularly shaped refractory comprises a novolac type phenolic resin (A), a polyether polyol with a molecular weight of 1,000 or less (B), hexamethylenetetramine (C), and a refractory aggregate (D) such as alumina, magnesia, chromite, dolomite, magnesia, silica, and zircon. The regularly shaped refractory is obtained by shaping and hardening it.
