Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a cyclodextrin derivative compositions of high efficiency and reproducibility, which have high selectivity at high temperature, in a composition for separating an optical isomer by the gas chromatography.
CONSTITUTION: Cyclodextrin is etherified by alkyl halide, to form an ether of cyclodextrin in which about 20-80% of hydrogen of a hydroxyl group on cyclodextrin, is substituted by alkyl of the alkyl halide, and further at least about 90% of hydrogen of the residual hydroxyl group of the ether of the cyclodextrin is esterified.
