Abstract:
To provide a composition for a sliding material which, when used as a sliding material, can decrease the abrasion loss while substantially retaining characteristics as the sliding material, and the sliding material obtained by molding the same.
The composition for the sliding material comprises a binder resin, a base material and a spherical cured phenolic resin. The sliding material is obtained by molding the composition. Preferably, the spherical cured phenolic resin has an average particle size of 0.1-500 μm and an acetone-extract ratio of at most 5 wt%, and is contained in an amount of 5-40 wt% based on the whole composition for the sliding material.
