To provide compositions useful for treating complement mediated diseases with greater and longer-lasting efficacy.SOLUTION: Provided herein is a recombinant vector comprising a modified human H factor (hfH) gene-containing expression cassette, where the hfH gene encodes a hfH protein variant comprising one or more of SCR1-4, 19-20, SCR7, SCR17 and/or SCR18.
