Abstract:

To obtain a compound having microtubule polymerization promoting effect or microtubule polymerization inhibiting effect, having a simple chemical structure which can be supplied more stably than a compound having a taxane skeleton, further having high water solubility, and substitutable for taxol or taxotere.

A compound expressed by general formula [I] or [II], and having microtubule polymerization promoting effect or microtubule polymerization inhibiting effect (wherein, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each hydroxyl, or a group convertible into hydroxyl; R5 and R6 are each a group selected from among a saturated hydrocarbon group, an unsaturated hydrocarbon group, a substituted saturated hydrocarbon group and a substituted unsaturated hydrocarbon group), or its salt.
