To improve work efficiency by executing other reserved function while temporarily stopping a facsimile function at the point when a facsimile under processing has been finished, by providing an execution reserving means for the other function and a facsimile function stopping/restarting means.
When the other function reserve key of an operation part is depressed during facsimile transmitting/receiving processing, a flag is set to '1'. When the end flag of FAX transmitting/receiving processing is judged, a main control part 2 stops the facsimile function for a fixed time. When the other reserved function has been activated within the fixed time, processing is executed until the other function is completed. When the execution of the other function has been finished or the other function is not activated within the fixed time, the facsimile function is reactivated. Thus, the other function can be surely activated and executed and after the lapse of a prescribed time, even when the other function has not been activated, the facsimile function is activated again so that influences upon the facsimile function can be suppressed to a minimum.
