Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a filter medium having a resilient coarse material structure and high capturing performance by using a two-tier fibrous laminated sheet and controlling the firmness of the sheet by the 45° cantilever method beyond a specified degree.
CONSTITUTION: This laminated sheet consists of a fibrous layer A of polypropyrene and a melt blow fibrous layer B with an average fiber diameter of at least, 5μm. The firmness of this sheet by the 45° cantilever method is 15cm or more. When manufacturing this compound melt blow sheet, the fibrous layer B consisting of melt blow fiber is laminated on the fibrous layer A so that these layers are integrally formed together. When extruding a molten polymer through a perforated mouthpiece, the resin is melt-blown in such a manner that an air turbulence generates at the tip of the mouthpiece as conditions for forming the fibrous layer B. In addition, when using a resin for forming the fibrous layer B, it should be, for example, polyamide, polyester and their copolymer, which can hardly be compatible with the other as a blended resin, and this blended resin is melt-blown.
