To suppress the scatter of the quality of a bending operation, and further to prevent the turning-up of a workpiece when a trimming blade is drawn out.
The compound press die comprises a driven cam 30 which advances toward the workpiece, a movable bending blade 50 which carries out bending of the workpiece by horizontally advancing by being directly pushed by the driven cam 30 in the surface contact state during the advance of the driven cam 30, and can withdraw together with the driven cam 30 by the elastic force of a return spring 38 applied thereto during the withdrawal of the driven cam 30, a trimming blade 40 which is fixed to the driven cam 30, and simultaneously carries out the trimming operation for the workpiece bent by the movable bending blade 50, a spring set 44 which can push the movable bending blade 50 in the advancing direction by the elastic force, and spring set driving mechanisms 42, 27y which drive the spring set 44. The spring set driving mechanisms 42, 27y operate the spring set 44 at least during the period from the start of the withdrawal of the driven cam 30 to the finish of the withdrawal of the trimming blade 40 from the workpiece after the finish of the bending and trimming of the workpiece.
