Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new compound PS-990 which is a new physiologically active substance produced by a microorganism belonging to the genus Acremonium and exhibiting a neurite-extending action.

CONSTITUTION: The compound PS-990 expressed by formula or its pharmacologically permissible salt. The compound PS-990 of formula can be produced by culturing a microbial strain belonging to the genus Acremonium and capable of producing PS-990 [preferably Acremonium sp-P-990 (FERM BP-4019)] in a medium and collecting the PS-990 produced and accumulated in the cultured product.
