Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a compd. which is suitable for the preparation of zeolite SSZ-26.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl [4,3,3,0] propellane8,11- diamine and its alkyl amonium cation, i.e., N,N,N',N'-hexamethyl [4,3,3,0] propellane-8,11-diammonium cation. The latter compd. is pref. derived from a compd. represented by the formula (wherein A- represents an anion, pref., halide, hydroxide, acetate, sulfate, tetrafluoroborate, or carboxyl). SSZ-26 is prepd. by preparing an aq. mixture having a molar ratio of YO2:W2O3=(10:1) to (200:1), Q YO2=(0.05:1) to (0.50:1) (wherein Y represents silicon, germanium or a mixture thereof; W is aluminum, gallium, iron or a mixture thereof ; and Q represents hexamethyl [4,3,3,0] propellane-8,11-diamonium) and holding the mixture at a temp. of at least 100°C until zeolite crystal is formed.
