Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure smooth combustion having the less generation of NOx and soot.
SOLUTION: In a compression ignition internal combustion engine, auxiliary fuel is maintained in the condition oxidized upto an intermediate oxidation stage even after the compression top dead center, by injecting the auxiliary fuel of 30% or less of a maximum injection quantity in an injection timing region 11 between nearly 50-20 degree before the compression top dead center. Then injected fuel can be ignited concurrently in many places by injecting main fuel after the compression top dead center.
