Abstract:
PURPOSE:To efficiently compress and transmit dot image data for print by compressing dot image data for print after inverting it or directly depending on the result of discrimination between the white component and the black component of the data. CONSTITUTION:Dot image data for print 1 is directly inputted to a data compression circuit 4 of MH method or MR method in case a switching switch 2 is connected to a contact 2a. On the other hand, in case the switch 2 is connected to a contact 2b, the data is inverted by an inversion circuit 3 and inputted to the compression circuit 4. And, a binary switching signal SW is inputted to the switch 2 depending on the visual judgement by an operator as to whether the white component dominates or the black component dominates. In case the white component dominates, the switch 2 is connected to the contact 2a, instead, when the black component dominates, the switch 2 is connected to the contact 2b, and the switching signal SW is transmitted together with compressed data CD from the compression circuit 4.
