PURPOSE: To increase an EER (capacity/electric power consumed) upon heating and cooling sufficiently in the case the heating capacity of a heat pump room air conditioner is increased by a method wherein the capacity of the compressor is increased in a condition that the excluding amount of the compressor is kept in small and the loss of the compressor is not increased substantially.
CONSTITUTION: A gas refrigerant medium, discharged out of an evaporator and having a comparatively large specific volume, is somewhat compressed in a turbo compression unit 19 under a condition that the loss thereof is little and is sucked into a rotary compression unit 6 under a condition having a small specific volume, therefore, the excluding amount of the rotary compression unit 6 may be small and the necessary capacity may be outputted under a condition that the loss is very little. As a result, an input for the compressor in the room air conditioner may be decreased and the EER may be improved. Further, in case a pressure increase in the turbine compression unit 19 is desired to be increased, it may be achieved by increasing the number of steps of an impellor or the revolving number of a motor.
