To provide a package casing excellent in softness and stretchability and suitable for sausage rings, etc., by biaxially drawing a polyamide-based polymer mixture and thermally setting the drawn polymer mixture to afford a tube material, carrying out shirring from the tube material and concertinaing the tube material.
This package casing is a shirred package casing using a polymer mixture of polyamide 6 and 10-90wt.% polyamide such as a copolyamide having units of hexamethylenediamine, isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid as a substrate, especially sausage casing shirred from a biaxially drawn and thermally set tube material. An emulsifier-containing spray solution (preferably having 5-10wt.% concentration) is applied to the tube material before being shirred and shirring density is up to 1:200 and the length of shirred concertina is 40-100cm and the outside diameter of the concertina is 25-90mm and the inside diameter is 12-45mm. Furthermore, the spray solution preferably contains an emulsifier using a sorbitol fatty acid ester as a base.
