PURPOSE: To provide a condensed thiazole derivative having excellent action on suppressing the hepatic cell degeneration necrosis and improve hepatopathy and useful as a preventive and therapeutic agent for hepatic diseases.
CONSTITUTION: A derivative of formula I [the double line composed of a solid line and a dotted line is double bond or single bond; R1 is H or substituent; R2 and R3 are H or substituent; R4 to R7 are H or substituent; one of R4 and R5 and one of R6 and R7 may together with bonded C form aliphatic ring, aromatic ring, etc., which may have substituent; A is H, 1-10C alkyl, group of formula II (R8 and R9 are H, 1-10C alkyl, etc., R10 is 1-10C alkyl, H, etc.) or group of formula III (R11 is H, lower alkoxy, etc.; R12 and R13 are H or 1-10C alkyl; n is 0-6); Z is methylene, O, etc.] or its salt, e.g. ethyl 5,6-dihydro- thiazolo[2,3-C][1,4]--thiazine-8-carboxylate. The compound can be produced by reacting a compound of formula IV with a compound of formula V (X is halogen; A1 is H, 1-10C alkyl, etc.) in an organic acid (preferably acetic acid, etc.) at room temperature to 100°C.
