Abstract:
To provide a conductive carbon which enables achievement of a power storage device having high energy density and improved in stability in high-temperature use, and a production method thereof.SOLUTION: A conductive carbon of the present invention has a property of expanding like a paste when receiving a pressure. A ratio of peak intensity of S1 band to peak intensity of S2 band in Raman spectra on the conductive carbon falls in a range of 0.85-0.99. The conductive carbon is produced by a method comprising: an oxidation step of performing an oxidizing process on a carbon material, thereby obtaining an oxidation-processed carbon having the property of expanding like a paste when receiving a pressure; and a pulverization step of pulverizing the oxidation-processed carbon in such a way that the ratio of the peak intensity of S1 band to the peak intensity of S2 band in Raman spectra on resultant conductive carbon falls in the range of 0.85-0.99.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
