To provide a conductive roll for electrophotography capable of completely preventing an image defect from occurring without processing both end parts of an elastic layer formed on the outer circumferential surface of a shaft body by metallic die molding.
The elastic layer 2 is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft body 1 by metallic die molding, and the outer circumferential surface of the elastic layer 2 is the transfer surface of the surface of the metallic die. The part of the elastic layer 2 corresponding to an electrostatic latent image non-forming area on the surface of a photoreceptor drum is formed so that its diameter may be reduced stepwise and also the outside diameters of the neighboring parts of both ends in the shaft direction of the reduced diameter part may be gradually extended toward both edges, then the maximum diameter of the conductive roll for electrophotography at the extended diameter part is set to be smaller than the diameter of the conductive roll for electrophotography at the center part in the shaft direction.
