PURPOSE: To obtain a conductive roll which has enough durability and where spark traces, wrinkles, etc., are not easily made in a material to be treated to improve the quality of treated products by coating the roll base material with hard silver to manufacture the conductive roll.

CONSTITUTION: A conductive roll base material 1 consisting of copper alloy, stainless steel, etc., is coated with a coating film of hard silver 2 having about 50-150μm thickness and ≥120 Vickers hardness (Hv) by an electroplating method, etc., on the surface. And silver-antimony alloy is preferably used as the hard silver 2 and it has an antimony content of 0.01-3.0%. Consequently a conductive roll excelling durability is obtained and the occurrence of sparks, etc., when supplying electricity to the material to be treated is prevented.
