Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the wear of a welding tip of a uniaxial servo gun making use of the jig clamp action, and to compensate the wear at the robot position/ gun-closing position.
SOLUTION: In a wear measuring method, a jig 3 is fixed during the calibration before starting the use of a welding tip of a uniaxial servo gun 10, the soft-floating is effectively performed so as to have softness in the Z-axis direction, and a welding tip C2 is moved toward the position P by actuating the gun axis. When a tip 16 is abutted on the jig 3, a robot is floated, and the tip 15 of a fixed welding tip C1 is abutted on the jig 3 and stopped, the robot position B(Z)init and the gun axis position ginit are stored. The clamping action of the jig 3 is also performed under the same condition in measuring the wear to obtain the robot position B(Z)meas and the gun axis position gmeas when the clamping action is completed. The wear δ1, δ2 of the welding tips C1, C2 are obtained by δ1=&verbar Zmeans-Zinit&verbar , δ2=&verbar (gmeas-ginit)&verbar -&verbar Zmeas-Zinit&verbar , and utilized for correction of the robot position and the gun closing position.
