Abstract:
Provided is a congestion state analysis system with which it is possible to analyze a congestion state with consideration given not only to the quantity or movement of objects obtained from image information of an imaging device, but also to human sensations such as crampedness or stress, which vary according to environmental conditions or objects carried or used by a person. A congestion state analysis system comprising an imaging device for picking up an image of an analysis region, and a congestion analysis device for processing images picked up by the imaging device and collecting information in the analysis region, wherein the congestion state analysis system is characterized in that the congestion analysis device has an object information analysis unit, and the object information analysis unit is provided with: a person/object information extraction means for extracting information about persons and objects included in the image picked up by the imaging device; a type determination means for determining the types of persons and objects extracted by the person/object extraction means; an estimated-number-of-persons calculation means for calculating the estimated number of persons that a person would regard as representing crampedness, using the personal space of the person as extracted by the person/object extraction means, and the area occupied by each type of object determined by the type determination means; and a degree-of-congestion determination means for determining the degree of congestion approximate to what a person would sense, on the basis of the estimated number of persons calculated by the estimated-number-of-persons calculation means.
