PURPOSE: To make quick and easy qualitative and quantitative determination of an antigen, antibody or antigen-antibody complex, etc., by using the specific conjugate of a complement C1q and agglutination inducing material.
CONSTITUTION: The conjugate constituted by conjugating the agglutination inducing material with the section of the complement C1q component except the section having avidity with immune globulin is produced by adding a reducing agent to the complement C1q component to cleave the S-S bond existing in the section having no avidity with the immune globulin, then conjugating the agglutination inducing material therewith via the exposed SH group. The applications of such specific conjugation of the complement C1q and the agglutination inducing material include the utilization as a reagent for quantitatively determining and detecting the specific antigen held by or sticking to the cells and tissue in body fluid, or the specific antibody thereto, denatured immune globulin or immune complex, etc., and the use as a medicine for treatment to adjust the physiological function of the cells having the cell surface structure which can be recognized by the specific antibody or the cells which can capture the immune complex and complement.
