Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain binder fiber which can give compressed web of polyester suitably useful for stretchable nonwoven fabric having soft fabric hand and as a cushioning material because it is excellent in soft fabric hand and yielding resistance, when it is used for a long period of time or in a high-temperature atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: This sheath-core type conjugated binder fiber comprises a polyester elastomer, as a core part, made of a randomly copolymerized polyester obtained from ethylene terephthalate units as a hard segment and ε-caprolactone as a soft segment, and a low-melting polymer, as a sheath part, made of a polyester copolymer melting at a temperature lower than 200°C, obtained from polyethylene terephthalate/polyethylene isophthalate.
