PURPOSE: To prevent dislocation of a locking mechanism and unprepared movement of a pressing member so as to surely engage a bellows pipe in a designated position by providing a locking mechanism for checking the movement of the pressing member and permitting the same, with the force of disignted magnitude as boundary, between the device main body and the pressing member.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of connecting a bellows pipe 1A of a flexible pipe 1 to a connecting device for a bellows pipe, first the bellows pipe 1A is inserted in a connecting hole 2a of the connecting device main body 2 through a pressing member 6. The bellows pipe 1A is forced to knock against a seal member 5 to advance a support member 3. At this time, an engaging member is checked from advancing by a locking surface 2d of the device main body 2 and moved backward to be detached from the support member 3 and be fitted in a valley part 1a of the bellows pipe 1A. The pressing member 6 is positioned by a locking mechanism 10 and checked from moving to surely engage the engaging member 3 with designated valley part 1a. At the time of advancing the pressing member 6, though large force is required until a temporary stop ring 10c of the locking mechanism 10 comes out from an annular groove 10a, advance operation can be performed with small force after it is put out.
