PURPOSE: To improve the strength and accuracy of connection by enclosing a safety valve within a cell cap provided with a cylindrical part and a flange part, engaging holes, provided in the flange part, with the correspnding convex parts in a metal plate, crushing there and thereby integrating them as one body.
CONSTITUTION: A cell cap 1 is composed of a cylindrical part and a flange part 4 which is provided at the periphery of said cylindrical part and besides has multiple holes 3, and a safety valve 7 is enclosed within said cylindrical part. Furthermore, a metal plate 5 having multiple convex parts 6 with protrusion height greater than the plate thickness of the cell cap 1 is brought in contact with the underside of the flange, and the convex parts 6 of the metal plate 5 are engaged with the holes 3 in the cap 1 and crushed and thereby both of these are integrated as one body. Therefore, without using welding or the like, it is possible to make th correct positioning of the cap 1 to the metal plate 5 and at the same time, to improve reliability by increasing the strength of the connection.
