Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a connecting rod construction of an engine appropriately keeping the bearing clearance against a piston pin.
CONSTITUTION: A connecting rod bush 5 having a bearing face 12 against a piston pin 4 is press-fitted into the small end part 2 of a connecting rod, the connecting rod bush 5 is formed out of a material of thermal expansion coefficient smaller than that of the connecting rod small end part 2, and the wall thickness of the connecting rod small end 2 is formed so as to become gradually smaller from the side parts 2b perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the connecting rod to the upper part 2a positioned in the lengthwise direction of the connecting rod.
