Abstract:
To improve waterproofing of a connector packing sealing a polyvinyl chloride resin covered electric wire and a connector housing by fusing the polyvinyl chloride resin cover of the electric wire and the connector packing.
An acrylic elastomer valcanizate, preferably a siloxane-modified acrylic elastomer valcanizate is used as a connector packing material. The acrylic elastomer is vulcanizing-formed into a connector packing accommodated into a connector. A polyvinyl chloride resin covered electric wire is inserted into the connector packing and is heated to form a waterproofing seal by fusing the polyvinyl chloride resin cover of the electric wire and the acrylic elastomer.
