To firmly and easily connect steel plankings together and to solve the problem of loosening of a bout when an external impact is applied by fitting a ring-shaped step correcting member which is inclined outwards and downwards over the outer periphery of an upper fastener for a road steel planking plate connector.
A step correcting member 15 made of an elastic member inclined outward and downward is fitted over the horizontal opposite surface of an upper fastener 1 formed into a circular shape. A positioning projection formed on the back of the step correcting member 15 is fitted into a groove between steel plankings to be connected together, and the step correcting member 15 is mounted in a predetermined position on the upper fastener 1 to prevent movement. Steel plankings 5, 5', are sandwiched between the upper fastener 1 and a lower fastener 4, and after the iron plates 5, 5' are fastened together by threading a bolt 12 into through holes 3, 3', the lower fastener 4 is buried in the ground. Since the steel plankings are firmly and easily connected together and the step between the upper fastener 1 and the lower fastener 4 is corrected by the inclined surface of the step correcting member 15, stumbling of humans and loosening of the bolt 12 that may occur when a truck or the like makes shock-causing contact therewith can be prevented.
