To provide a connector that can be locked only by a simple fitting operation and is not unlocked even by shock or vibration.
A connector is constituted by a receptacle comprising a housing-shaped plug and a pair of rail-like side faces. The plug is provided with a protrusion on its outer face. The receptacle comprises: a lever that is opposed adjacent to a receptacle side face, whose plug connection direction end is fixed to the receptacle side face, and whose plug detachment direction end projects and extends from the receptacle side face; and a claw formed above the lever to cover the lever via a gap. The lever comprises: a lever tip formed on its plug detachment direction end; and a step formed so that the lever tip side is an upper stage part and the plug connection direction end side is a lower stage part. In a process of fitting the plug and the receptacle, the protrusion presses down the lever tip, and therefore, the vertical direction width of a gap between the upper stage part and a lower face of the claw is enlarged to be equal to or more than the vertical direction width of the protrusion.
