PURPOSE: To improve the repeating accuracy of lapping by a method wherein a detecting means, outputting a signal at a predetermined distance under opposing to an actuator rod displaced in accordance with the advance of grinding, is provided in the device.
CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a rotating cylindrical body 5, coated or burried with an abrasive material uniformly on the surface thereof, the actuator rod 21, holding a work 8, energizing the work 8 so as to abut against the rotating cylindrical body 5 and displacing in accordance with the advance of the grinding, the detecting means 25, outputting the signal at a predetermined distance and opposed to the actuator rod 21, and the indicating means 26, indicating by the signal from the detecting means 25. Accordingly, the working amount of lapping may be controlled accurately by the simple visual operation of a worker and the dimensional control of the work may be improved by said simplified constitution.
