Abstract:
PURPOSE:To protect a load against an overvoltage easily at low cost by using a Zener diode for a clamping circuit that suppresses an input voltage to the load below a maximum permissible voltage. CONSTITUTION:Between output terminals 18a and 18b of regulated power source 18, Zener diode ZD26 is connected. If the voltage between terminals 18a and 18b rises above a prescribed voltage owing to the trouble or breakdown of power source 18, electric current flows to ZD26 and an input voltage to a load is clamped to the Zener voltage, so that the load is protected against an overvoltage. Then, fuse 16 blows out to break the circuit.
