PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the error that is caused by the influence of the overflow, etc., when a designing operation is carried out by a programmable device such as a systolic array processor and by means of a fixed point operation by setting the threshold to a conditional statement that is used for the operation of a boundary cell.
SOLUTION: The threshold min is set by means of a fixed point operation for the operation of a boundary cell, and the operation to be carried out is divided between a case where one of inputs is lower than the threshold and another case. That is, if uin<min, δin<min or β2+δin&verbar z&verbar 2<min is satisfied, {x=β2x, s=0, z=uin, δout=δin} is calculated. In other cases, {z=uin, x'=β2x+-δin&verbar z&verbar 2, c=β2x/x', s=δinz/x', x=x', δout=cδin} is calculated. Thus, it is possible to evade a problem that the value of s has the overflow due to the influence of a division.
