PURPOSE: To simplify the execution of a tunnel having a complex structure of precast steel and concrete by dividing the tunnel into the elements of the predetermined shape and size, and jointing adjacent elements to each other with weld, bolts or the like at a construction site.
CONSTITUTION: The tunnel having a complex structure of precast steel and concrete is divided into shapes of sizes suitable for an axial or sectional direction, thereby forming tunnel constitution elements A. The elements A are assembled with existing elements A on the footing of an excavated foundation. The inner skin plates 2 of both elements A are welded to each other at an on-site jointing section. Furthermore, on-site joint members 16 are fitted between each reinforcement girder 3, and the on-site joint members 16 and the reinforcement girders 3 are jointed to each other with weld, bolts 27 or the like. Thereafter, the same process as aforesaid is repeated, and the elements A are sequentially jointed to form a tunnel. According to the aforesaid construction, transportation and handling works become easy, and a construction period can be shortened.
