To provide a construction method for a vertical shaft, which enables the inexpensive construction of the plurality of vertical shafts different in diameter.
An upward shield 1 is preliminarily formed in such a shape as to split beforehand into a cutter portion 3, an intermediate barrel portion 5, and a rear barrel portion 7; a front barrel portion 10 for supporting a cutter 8 of the cutter portion 3 is formed with a diameter identical to the smallest diameter of the vertical shaft 42 to be constructed; and the cutter portion 3, the intermediate barrel portion 5 and the rear barrel portion 7 are formed in such a manner that the cutter diameter of the cutter portion 3, the diameter of the intermediate barrel portion 5 and the diameter of the rear barrel portion 7 are identical to the diameter of the vertical shaft 42. The upward shield 1 is started by being formed in such a manner that an outer shell frame 24 is fitted into the front barrel portion 10 of the cutter portion 3 so as to be identical in diameter to the vertical shaft 42 to be constructed. In the construction of the vertical shaft 42 with another diameter, the cutter portion 3 and a jacking jack 4 are recovered and reused; the outer shell frame 24, the intermediate barrel portion 5 and the rear barrel portion 7 are formed in accordance with the diameter of the vertical shaft 42; and the upward shield 1 is formed by attaching the cutter portion 3 and the jacking jack 4 to them, so that the vertical shaft 42 can be constructed.
