The consumable management system 1 includes: a specific information holding means 2 which is provided to the consumables 5 supplied to an image forming apparatus 100 and holds a series of pieces of information related to a specific field in a two-dimensional code image data region having at least a data disclosure part or a data non-disclosure part; an information reading means 3 which reads information held in the two-dimensional code image data region; a specific information extracting means 6 which extracts specific information from the information read by the information reading means; and a control means 20 which analyzes the content of the specific information extracted by the specific information extracting means and performs control so as to manage the consumables in the image forming apparatus on the basis of the analyzed content.
