Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the contact electrostatic charging device with which good images are obtd. in respective environments with decreased fluctuations in resistance value by the environments.
CONSTITUTION: This contact electrostatic charging device performes electrostatic charge treatment of the surface of a body to be electrostatically charged by bringing an electrostatic charging member into pressurized contact with the surface of the body to be electrostatically charged and relatively moving the member. This electrostatic charging member 2 consists of an arbor 2a, a conductive elastic layer 202b on this arbor 2a and a surface layer 201 on this elastic layer. This surface layer 201b contains a reaction product consisting of a polyol compd. (I), and a polyol compd. (II) varying in OH equiv. from each other and a polyisocyanate compd. as essential raw material components. The polyol compd. (I) is a polyol compd. having ≥500 OH equiv. and 2 to 60 pieces number of OH ups per 1 molecule thereof and the polyol compd. (II) is a polyol compd. having ≤300 OH equiv. As a result, the contact electrostatic charging device with which the fluctuations in the resistance value by the environment are decreased and the good images are obtainable in the respective environments and which has the excellent durability is obtd.
