PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact image sensor capable of avoiding damage caused by static electricity accumulated on contact glass with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A sensor substrate 46 on which a light receiving element 45 is mounted includes: a copper pattern layer serving as a route for supplying an electric current to the light receiving element 45 or the like or a signal path; and a resist layer 46e serving as a protective layer. At least a part of a ground pattern 46d formed on a copper pattern layer 46c in the vicinity of the light receiving element 45 is exposed to the outside by a defect portion 46f formed in the resist layer 46e.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
